Project Management Specialist

The Boeing Company is recruiting for two Project Management Specialists to support Smithfield, PA work location.
Responsibilities Include:
  • Develops overall project plans consistent with project objectives as defined by the project owner and key stakeholders in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry (e. g., PMI, Project Management Body of Knowledge PMBOK , ANSI, and ISO standards).
  • Leads others and direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion.
  • Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
  • Ensures that all project control systems within the scope of the project are in place and integrates project data for decision makers.
  • Compiles and/or directs the collection and provides guidance for reviews of industry standards and any available data source for best practices, lessons learned, historical and forecast of historical and forecast data to perform trend, earned value and variance analyses.
  • Analyzes key factors (e. g., hardware and software maturity levels, strategic alliances with other companies, subcontractor capabilities) and risk assessments in order to develop plans or make recommendations for change.
  • Incorporates changes, lessons learned and best practices into project control systems to maintain work statements, cost and schedule baselines.
  • Negotiates with project participants and stakeholders to establish project deliverable definition, task scope, task sequence, budget plans and schedule commitments in order to maximize efficiency of project plan.
  • Consolidates generated project data and interfaces with functional specialist or team specialist on cross functional teams project data regarding project impact items (e. g., trade-offs among cost, schedule, quality, risk).
  • Develops workaround plans, schedules recovery plans, alternative options or scenarios, resource capacity plans, risk mitigation plans or re-baselines the project as required.
  • Provides recommendations to decision makers. Identifies and tracks project risks using project management tools and techniques and develops alternative plans for project completion.
  • Develops a project plan and deliverables that meet identified requirements.
  • Discusses project objectives and deliverables with the project team to obtain understanding and acceptance of work assignments.
  • Obtains recommendations from project team concerning workarounds, recovery plans and work scope changes, etc.
  • Presents project status to identified project stakeholders to keep them informed of progress and changes to the project.
  • Develops plan to transition project to organization accountable for on-going activities using methods described in project plan.
  • Schedules release of project resources and coordinates return of assigned personnel to home organization.
  • Acquires information about lessons learned by interviewing, researching and analyzing written and verbal communications (e. g., historical reports, customer feedback, regulatory agency feedback) to integrate lessons learned into future project plans.
  • Prepares and presents outcomes, assessments and corrective action initiatives to senior management.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Security Clearance for which the U. S. Government requires U. S. Citizenship.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Experience supporting a US Federal Government, DoD or a Boeing program
  • Experience supporting scheduling efforts
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Project
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Two or more years experience as a program manager on a US Federal Government, DoD or Boeing program
  • Experience with Manufacturing Electronics and Electro Mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), MRP (Materials Requirement planning) and planning and scheduling techniques
  • Having a Current US Secret Clearance is highly desired
  • Bachelors degree is preferred
Typical Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree and typically 3 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position is located in Smithfield, PA and does not offer relocation assistance. Applicants must reside in area or be willing to relocate at their own expense.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
